Addams Family Chicago tickets are selling fast and the bizarre cast of characters is set for an opening night on Broadway Chicago towards the end of this year. The horrid and ghoulish sketches by cartoonist Charles Addams that led to the funniest haunted house in the world being turned into a TV show will shortly be coming to life in Chicago. As the Broadway production of The Addams Family Musical begins to capture the imagination of New Yorkers prior to its 2010 debut, Chicagoans will be treated to a staging of the production at the Oriental Theatre as early as November, 2009. Gomez, Morticia, Pugsley, Uncle Fester, Lurch and daughter Wednesday, the focus for this latest episode, will all be involved. The Addams saga is loved around the world, and Addams Family Chicago tickets are predicted to be as popular as Addams Family New York. Chicago producer Stuart Oken is said to be behind the Addams Family in the Windy City, along with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa. You can think of the Chicago Addams Family production as the Broadway try-out, but Chicago audiences will be loving the antics of the Addams Family musical.

This production is said to be based on the actual Addams cartoons and not the TV show. The unofficial title is “Wednesday is now 18 years old”. The gist is that the Addams beloved daughter has finally outgrown the frogs and lizards she doted on as a kid, and has reached young adulthood. The Addamses are now expected to host a dinner party, when Wednesday’s boyfriend’s family come to meet her folks, with predictably hysterical results. Anyone who remember Nathan Lane’s performance in The Birdcage will be expecting great things for Addams Family New York, but the production crew associated with Addams Family Chicago promise a similarly brilliant outcome. Wednesday’s sudden disregard for torturing small furry animals and her small furry borther, Pugsley, has the rest of the family confused.

Move fast for your Addams Family Chicago tickets, because opening night will be coming around a lot sooner in Chicago than it will in New York!
