The Addams Family Musical tickets are selling well for several reasons, not least because of a big name cast and some great supporting actors. Krysta Rodriguez plays the Addams daughter, Wednesday, upon which the plot of the Addams Family Broadway production focuses, and she recently gave an interview to Broadway.com. In the interview, Rodriguez revealed much about her opinion of the other actors, her tomboy teens, and her background as an actress. Of her fellow players in the Addams Family she described Nathan Lane as “amazing” and “just by far the funniest human being ever”. That’s high praise from the southern Californian Rodriguez, who described herself as giving off a “Goth vibe” due to her pale complexion. In the interview she also described the mother-daughter relationship she has developed off-stage with Bebe Neuwirth. But it was for fellow actor Adam Riegler, who plays Pugsley, Wednesday’s little brother, she reserved the warmest regards. “If you make him laugh, you know you’re golden,” she said. “He’s hysterical. He’s also my favorite person in the building.”
Getting up on stage with Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth cannot be an easy task for a young actress, but it looks like Rodriguez has risen to the role perfectly. The Californian with the edgy vibe and the wealth of acting experience says she has finally found a role that really feels like her own. “When you’re singing somebody else’s music, it’s like wearing someone else’s clothes; you can tell it’s not yours. This feels like mine,” Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez also mentioned how those original Addams cartoons appealed to her for their dry wittiness. Her sense that New York was in many ways a home to her, rather than her native California has certainly not helped, either. Addams Family tickets send you into the heart of yet another Addams drama. In the musical, Wednesday meets and falls in love with her first real boyfriend, and the resultant confusion at her change of sentiment resounds through the mansion; she no longer teases and tortures brother Pugsley (played by Rodriguez’ chum, Riegler) and even feels somewhat motherly – a totally unexpected development for the freaky family.
Addams Family musical tickets are selling as well as any on Broadway right now, and the Addams Family schedule is set to run all the way into 2011. If you’re a fan of Addams Family mayhem, then head for Broadway and experience a dash of the macabre in your life today!
